A casino lobbyist who admitted offering bribes for votes is scheduled to testify for a third day in Alabama's gambling corruption trial in Montgomery.
Country Crossing lobbyist Jennifer Pouncy returns to the witness stand Tuesday morning. She testified Monday that she offered $2 million in campaign contribution to Sen. Jim Preuitt for his vote on pro-gambling legislation, but she never had an expressed agreement with him to vote in return for the money.
Pouncy said Sen. Larry Means sought a $100,000 campaign contribution in return for his vote and she promised it. Means' attorney contends the senator supported the bill because the sponsor made significant changes.
Pouncy pleaded guilty to conspiracy in 2010 and is awaiting sentencing. She said she hopes her testimony leads to a lighter sentence.
