Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Gadsden plans to reduce production for 2 weeks during October. Some workers may be able to stay on the job, if they have vacation time. Goodyear is Etowah County's largest employer with more than 1,700 workers. In a statement, a Goodyear spokesperson said "We do not produce volume for volume's sake. We are continually adjusting our production schedule to align with targeted market segment strategy and customer demand."
