The Etowah County Sheriff's Department says they have arrested a man on a first degree theft charge. Investigator Fred Lasseter says 25-year-old Morgan Christopher Nichols allegedly stole $3,700 worth of jewelry from a residence at Tabor Road in Gadsden. It is believed that the incident happened over a four week period during August 2012. Nichols is believed to have stolen the jewelry from a family member and taken it to local pawn shops. Some items have been recovered. Nichols is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
