Forecasters say a mix of freezing rain and sleet is possible across northern Alabama. The National Weather Service in Birmingham says the wintry mix is expected to begin as early as 3 p.m. Monday, and could last until 3 a.m. Tuesday. Forecasters say rain will be the primary type of precipitation, and any wintry mix will quickly transition to all rain after 3 a.m. Tuesday. The weather service says very little to no snow accumulation is expected since surface temperatures are expected to remain above freezing in most locations.
