A man was killed late Saturday night near the Alabama/Georgia state line after a one-car accident. The wreck occurred on County Road 123 in Cherokee County, about a mile and a half west of Georgia. Four people were traveling in a 2000 Toyota Tundra when the car crashed around 10:55 p.m. All passengers, whose ages range from 20 to 22, were transported to Cherokee Medical Center for treatment. One of the passengers, Justin Ballard, 22, of Rome, Georgia later died. The conditions of the three other passengers are unknown. Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the accident.
