A Weaver man has been arrested for allegedly trying to meet a girl for sex through a Craigslist ad.
The Gadsden Police Department reports an officer with the Special Projects Team poses as a 15 year old Gadsden girl, and placed an ad on Craiglist in the section "Woman for Male".
Daren James Allison, 21, of Weaver, responded to the ad.
Allison messaged the 15 year old girl over the internet asking for pictures of her.
He also text messaged her by cell phone.
Over the course of the investigation the messages became more numerous and sexually graphic.
In one message, the two discuss her age in relation to having sex with Allison and how it was illegal.
On August 2nd, Allison told the 15 year old that he was coming to Gadsden to pick her up and spend the night with her.
The GPD officer, still messaging as a 15 year old girl, arranged a location to meet.
Allison drove to the location. where he was taken into custody Thursday about 10:00pm CT.
Allison is charged with traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, a class A felony.
He has a $100,000 bond.
