Beginning Tuesday, July 24th at 9am, the Alabama Department of Transportation will begin repairs to the guardrails along I-59 northbound from exit 132 in Birmingham to Exit 148 in Argo. These repairs will cause the right lane and shoulder to be closed in the areas where the guardrails are being repaired. After these repairs are completed, the work will move to the southbound right lane, then the left lanes for northbound and southbound traffic. The work will continue from 9am to 3pm, Monday through Friday, for up to three weeks, and will require intermittent lane closures. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in the work areas, and observe all work zone speed limits and other work zone signs. For additional road closure information, visit www.dot.state.al.us.
