Alabama Governor Robert Bentley ordered all state flags to half-staff Friday as a sign of respect and mourning for the victims of the mass shooting at a Colorado movie theater. Bentley's office received official notification from the Obama Administration Friday afternoon that declared a national time of mourning. All U.S. flags were ordered to half-staff.
They will remain in that position until July 25. James Eagan Holmes, 24, is accused of the massacre at the Century 16 megaplex in Aurora, Co. where hundreds of movie-goers were enjoying the final episode in the Batman trilogy. Area hospitals confirm that a total of 71 people were shot, 12 have died, and dozens are injured in the shootings.
