Reports show that Birmingham public transit system ranks number 90 out of 100. The study comes from the Brooking Institution.
There are several places that the BJCTA, Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority, does not go like Trussville, Adamsville and Hueytown.
More than 10,000 people count on the BJCTA to get from point A to point B. Lashonda Mullion, a passenger on the BJCTA, says that it takes her 2 hours to get home from work due to the poor service.
Patrick Sellers, the Board of Directors Chairman, says that cities ranked higher have more funding for their transit, which makes their systems run better. Sellers says that they are working to make the transit better and will be meeting with several areas who do not have services with ideas to expand.
