Police are investigating an alleged robbery and kidnapping that occurred Thursday night near an apartment complex on Glen Addie Avenue.
A 39-year-old male told police Friday he was assaulted while visiting a friend at Glen Addie Homes, robbed of his wallet and cell phone and then placed in the trunk of a car and driven to an unknown location, according to Anniston police Sgt. Josh Doggrell.
In a statement to the police the man said he didn’t know where his assailant dropped him off Thursday, but after walking he was able to find his way to Regional Medical Center, where he received treatment for abdominal pain and left.
Police were not notified of the incident until Friday night when the man went to Stringfellow Hospital complaining of abdominal pains from the assault, Doggrell said.
No arrests have been made and police are searching for a suspect, Doggrell said.
