Anniston police are investigating two armed robberies on Quintard Avenue they believe might be linked.
Around 9:45 p.m. Thursday a man entered the Wendy’s on the 1500 block of Quintard with a handgun and made off with $115 in cash, according to Anniston police Sgt. Josh Doggrell. Five hours later a similar incident happened a few blocks south at the Walgreens Pharmacy on the 800 block of Quintard, where an armed suspect stole $280 from a cash register, Doggrell said.
Money was the only thing reported as stolen from both locations, according to reports. Doggrell said both Wendy’s and Walgreens were open at the time of the robberies, but said no one was injured.
Doggrell said investigators are looking at footage from security cameras at both locations this morning, and are conducting follow-up interviews to help identify suspects.
