Childersburg police are piecing together a quadruple shooting. It happened around 2 a.m. Thursday in housing complex off Highway 280. Police say four teenage boys were visiting friends at the Sadie Lee Homes Housing Authority early Thursday morning when a man approached them and told them they didn't belong in the neighborhood. Police say things escalated and shots were fired. Police found 10 shell casings from an assault rifle at the scene. One bullet entered a window inches above an elderly woman's head. She was unharmed. One teenage victim was flown to UAB to be treated for a gunshot wound to the stomach. The other three young men were treated and released from Coosa Valley Medical Center. Devita Isome, the sister of the victim taken to UAB, spoke about what she heard when she got to the scene of the shooting. "When I got there, I asked them what happened, They was like, they came up here to meet some girls and they was walking and the dude just hollered, Y'all aren't from my hood. Get off my block!" Then the boy was like, 'We aren't from around here.' The dude just pulled out a gun and started shooting," Isome said. "The the community has got to get involved," Childersburg police chief Lieutenant Doug Wesson said. "Take pride in themselves and work together with us." Police are not releasing the suspect's name but say they know who they are looking for. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Childersburg Police at 256-378-5568.
