Jody - A Fantasy Adventure: An Epic Adventure Story for Fantasy Lovers of All Ages

Tue, 16 Oct 2012 13:41:43 EST

'Jody - A Fantasy Adventure', is a book written by South African author Carly van Heerden. It features a ten year old girl; Jody, as the hero who must venture with 5 warriors of the forest to obtain the ingredients for a special potion that will rid the forest of the 'Dark One' and his followers. Light-hearted humor, compassion, friendship and nail-biting moments come together to combat the darkness.

This book has been written for readers who are inspired by classic 'good versus evil' tales. Written in a style that is simple enough for youngsters to understand, yet advanced enough to be enjoyed by an avid reader, 'Jody' promises to take the reader on a journey like no other.

With characters that exhibit strong personalities, some of which are not human; each of them whether insect or mermaid are unique and contribute in their own way to the overall enjoyment of the story. The author concentrates most of her efforts toward writing and compiling books for Kindle. Her first work published; 'Animal Totems And Spirit Animals, The Shamanic Approach', was released in August 2012.

Carly van Heerden commented on 'Jody' in an interview last week: "This book is the final product of six years of revision and re-revision. Inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, animals and nonhuman characters come to life in a setting not of earth. While being in a forest-like environment may be simple enough to imagine, the quest that the warriors face seems unfathomable as all the tasks seem impossible. Tension presents itself toward the final closure, as with all quests; will good prevail - will the evil be destroyed? Enjoy 'Jody' for the light-hearted humor, action, adventure, companionship, anthropomorphism and suspense that make this story a masterpiece.'

The author centers most of her work on animals, nature, self-discovery and enlightenment whether through fact or through fantasy.

An enjoyable book waiting to be read by all fantasy adventure story lovers around the globe.
